Yahoo messenger for iPhone

Yahoo! Messenger for iPhone, instant messaging application that will allow everyone to chat and keep in touch with your friends using the Apple iPhone or iPod Touch second generation. The software will allow you to change the image associated with your profile, your status, send photos to online contacts, and use the Yahoo SMS when you are offline. In the next release of iPhone 3.0 should be possible to use server push technology to keep up, even when using the device to perform other operations, thus not need to have the application always on top.

The Mobile Messenger is not new. They are applications (usually phones) that allow you to send messages with your contacts as if we were on our computer at home (or almost). But, often, or for the resolution of the screen, or for other reasons, messages from cell phone were difficult, and in addition, to send messages lacked most basic functions. With iPhone, however, things have changed. The introduction of new libraries on which to develop applications has meant that many users have all the programs that have always wanted. Now, among these applications, there's also Yahoo! Messenger app. Here are the main features:

* Instant Messaging: Send text messages back and forth with your friends, including emoticons, and web links.
* Photo Sharing: Take a photo on your iPhone and send, or take one from your gallery of photos to share.
* Stealth settings as follows: Log on as invisible, or change their state of invisible, once you're in app.
* Custom status message: Enter a custom status message that your friends can see. You can also add a link.
* Recent conversations stored: In the message, select a contact and see your more recent conversation. You can type a message from there to start a new chat.
* Special idle state: If you leave the 'app for any reason, as an incoming call or when you click on a link, Yahoo! Messenger for iPhone will keep you connected, but trigger is on stand-by. This way you can continue to receive messages and return to the application within ten minutes from when you left it.
* Other settings: Tap Settings to change the sort order of your contact list, or to show or hide the offline contacts on your list.
* Send SMS: Yahoo! Mobile Messenger can also send text messages (only USA).

Skype for iPhone

Skype has released his first official application for iPhone and iPod Touch is available for free download through the AppStore, the VoIP client seems to be one of the first steps of Skype to the ever more resourceful mobile market, where the brand aims to further expand its catchment area and, consequently, their earnings. iPhone will be after the time of the Blackberry series, so that an application specially developed, circumstances permitting, should is launched during May.

The application, which requires an external microphone integrated in the headphones to work on iPod Touch, shows a simple graphical interface and intuitive, not too far from that of traditional desktop client offered by the company. The features are the essential ones, or calls and IM: the latter feature, it seems that you can not start conversations with more than one user at a time, although you can be included in a group conversation. In addition to the classic screen with the contacts, Skype for iPhone provides the user the ability to purchase credits directly from the phone, through the appropriate area called My Info.

Not particularly rich, for the moment seems to be the interaction with the hardware of the device, especially with the camera: the user can choose whether to set as main picture for your account existing image or you can make a shot on the fly. Missing, then, support for videos, for which there is still coming: "We are considering the video option with caution, because we want to uphold the quality of the product - said Scott Durchslag, COO of Skype - If ever integrate this function, we have to do to work the best. "

The only new application seems to be what may be a further slide in terms of appeal: Skype works only and exclusively under WiFi coverage, so anything connected via the network operator. The choice was imposed by Apple as useful preventive policy to avoid conflicts of interest and discontent among the various telephone providers.

Nokia N86

Just got the Nokia N86 in my hands I could not help but observe the accuracy of the forms, beautiful rounded and very small, very tidy and easy to use layout of the buttons below the display, an OLED matrix display active with 16.7 million colors provides sharp and access, the slide beautiful, all polished, robust, it’s opening shot is very good, no cracking and no dancer, too bad it's all metal and has an impact seriously the total weight of the terminal. Very useful sliding the button on the left side of the body for locking and unlocking the keypad, excellent arrangement of stereo speakers located on the left side at the ends that provide a powerful sound and accurate, in my view, hidden by the battery cover microsd uncomfortable.

The 1200 mAh battery provides adequate permanent charge, the 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lenses and a dual LED flash system are one of the strengths of this terminal, good smoothness of flip lens cover and excellent functionality of the stand which allows you to see each other a film with complete freedom by supporting the cell on a table and allow the launch of a particular application we choose to open it. Very good also the alphanumeric keypad, the keys are well spaced, soft to the touch. They require a little pressure but are very accurate. The "N86" has a GPS receiver and a route planning software on board. The pedestrian navigation is free, whereas the car-navigation costs money.

Thanks for TV out, you can see photos and video captured directly on your TV at home, to share with family and friends sitting comfortably on your couch. For lovers of video games, the Nokia N86 has the N-Gage preinstalled. The software is a Symbian Series 60 3rd Edition FP2, good facilities with suoi121 Megs of ram and memory, plus 80 megabytes of internal memory. The internal memory has a capacity of 8GB, and as if that were not enough, there is a slot of mind for a further expansion with MicroSD memory cards with capacities up to 16GB. The Nokia N86 is animated by an ARM11 processor with a frequency of 434 MHz, and obviously can not be missing the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Nokia 6208c Touch

The 6208c is the first touchscreen phone with the operating system S40. It is to appear in China and, as Nokia, "in other selected markets" in the first half of 2009. The 6208c combines a numerical number pad with a touch screen. It is similar to the Sony Ericsson phones G700 and G900. With chunky dimensions of 110x49x14, 7 mm and the weight of 120 grams, but it is much bigger and heavier than its competitors from Sony Ericsson. What is striking is the holder for the stylus on the back of the phone. Its design was inspired by a bamboo pen, an important element of Chinese art and culture. The materials are high quality, so the back is made up partly of metal; the rest of the housing is made of plastic in a fine metal finish.

The technical data make it clear that this is a mid range phone, albeit with a technologically sound equipment. The touch screen is 2.4 inches tall and does not go beyond the standard resolution of 240x320 pixels (QVGA), but provides up to 16 million colors on the back dark. The camera snaps 3.2 megapixels and has an autofocus and a dual-LED flash. The internal 13-megabyte memory can be expanded up to 8 gigabytes with large microSD cards. The 6208c phone comes with the GSM frequencies 900/1800/1900 MHz.

Built for the Chinese market, Nokia 6208c is the third touchscreen manufactured by Nokia (after N97 and 5800 XpressMusic). Unlike the other two models, 6208c is not a smartphone (i.e., has no work to PDA) but has only a few variants of the S40 operating system, commonly used for mobile medium or low band. Nokia 6208c phone is a tri-band EDGE and GPRS support, USB connectivity, microSD and Bluetooth, touch screen and camera with 3.2 megapixels.

Google Earth for iPhone

Google has released an optimized version of Google Earth for the iPhone. The search provider provides the mobile version of Google Earth on Apple's App Store for free in 20 countries ready for download. The software supports all 18 languages, which also dominates the iPhone. On the iPhone, Google Earth, functions almost the entire desktop version. In addition, the software of Apple's Smartphone uses motion sensors to change views in Google Earth according to the inclination of the iPhone. Using the built-in GPS function of mobile phones Google Earth shows the current position of the user. Google Earth is the multi-touch user interface makes use of the iPhone. Thus, the image is out with a finger and pushed in, while provides the use of two fingers for a reduction or enlargement of the view.

If and when Google Earth for the mobile operating system Android will be adjusted, said Google does not cooperate. "We are big fans of the iPhone. It is a fantastic platform to demonstrate our technology," said Peter Birch, product manager for Google Earth. "We are also excited about Android operating system."

With Google Earth you get the most popular 3D interactive atlas on the iPhone. The freeware shows the Earth in three dimensions using high resolution satellite images on the display. The navigation on the iPhone Atlas is typical of finger movements on the display. Alternatively, you can reach from a direct search for a place. A finger double click zooms into the aerial photographs. If you move two fingers apart zooms it out again. The iPhone version also uses the motion of the mobile phone: With a simple turn of the iPhone we change the viewer’s perspective. Google Earth will react in the iPhone version amazingly fast and brings a very good resolution. The shift in perspective sometimes wobbles a bit, but quickly rises sharply. The functionality of the mobile version does not come up to the PC version, but the result on the iPhone is still remarkable.

T-Mobile G1

The T-Mobile G1 comes in a very generously sized enclosure with dimensions of 117.7 x 55.7 x 16.5 mm, therefore. The weight of the device is 158 grams or just been bearable for the necessary equipment, including the QWERTY keyboard and large displays, but the weight is still in order. On the front panel can be found at the top of the relatively wide opening speaker again, besides this one small inconspicuous status LED was integrated. Directly below this opening is found that measured 3.2 inches back, capacitive display. The rear panel is dominated by the huge battery cover. The entire back covers both the battery and the camera, and speakers from opening. When moved to the top of the screen full QWERTY keyboard comes to light. This keyboard has been installed on a shiny black surface, which ensures that it comes here pretty quickly fingerprints.

The measured 3.2 inch touch screen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels dominated almost the entire front panel. The display provides up to 65,000 colors and is similar to the Apple iPhone capacity. The QWERTY keyboard is the highlight of the T-Mobile G1. The Android operating system comes with a completely new operating concept. The unit offers 3 desktops that can be assigned to shortcuts, folders, or widgets. BlackBerry Bold 9000

BlackBerry Bold 9000 is offering top of the range of smartphones RIM "classics" and then provided a full keyboard and touch screen functionality without. Although the appearance of lines and are clearly traceable to mark the double B, shapes and designs have been renovated and new models also feature Curve 8900 and left after the 9500 Storm Bold. In terms of specifications the Bold is very good, including all the connectivity most common protocols including support for UMTS / HSDPA and WLAN networks, a processor handsome, a good amount of system memory, large screen high resolution and a GPS antenna. Stoned apparently on the list of features in this device, the camera "only" 2 megapixels and the lack of an extended integrated mass memory for storing media files, however, aspects that are well justified by the target which strictly professional The BlackBerry Bold is designed.

The BlackBerry Bold, as the next Curve 8900, is characterized by an assemblage of excellent quality made with only plastics. Screen slightly wider and more capacious battery also makes the Bold heavier than his younger brother about 20 grams. This difference in weight, however, does not affect handling and comfort of the device, which is perfectly proportioned for both male and female hands. The presence of the GPS module also allows you to have a good navigation system if necessary, where you have the necessary software. The presence of a material similar to the rough skin on the back of the smartphone also provides the friction necessary for the device does not escape the hand does not slip accidentally or slightly inclined surfaces. The BlackBerry Bold 9000 smartphone is the embodiment of professional convergent for RIM and for our part; we can not confirm the excellent work done by the Canadian home.

The only flaws that can be found in this terminal are minor, like the camera, low quality, lack of software dedicated to GPS navigation and the absence of some important accessories in the allocation of sale.
